Between Two Worlds is an exhibition of more than 50 watercolour paintings that were created whilst Farid lived as a Syrian refugee, separated from his wife and three children, in Berlin, Germany. Here, all he could carry was a back pack with a few art supplies and lived in a hostel with 300 other refugees. The paintings capture impressions from his memory and what he saw and witnessed living in the refugee camp in Berlin. Painting helped with depression, healing the loss of his homeland and separation from his family. Painting kept him alive during these difficult and traumatic times. Love, peace and tolerance are reflected in all of his work and stem from his strong Sufi faith.

Between Two Worlds is Farid Abdulbaki's first exhibition in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
